This subtractive manufacturing method can make your idea real in all kinds of metal and plastic materials, such as steel, brass, copper, titanium or aluminum, ABS, POM, Nylon, PMMA. For small quantity volume rubber or plastic parts we use RTV (room temperature vulcanization) with silicone molds. The tool life of the silicone mold is about 15 to 20 shots. Overmolding parts can be achieved by this process.

CNC Machining

When do you need CNC machined prototypes?

Jigs, or precision assembled product and functional working prototypes that need to be checked on fitting, work function, material properties and tight tolerances.

The process:

CNC machining is one of our rapid prototyping technologies. It is a subtractive prototyping method of removing unwanted material from a work piece, usually a sheet of thick metal or plastic. We offer high speed milling service by 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machining centers.

Material and Finishing:

We can make your CAD models out of a wide range of plastic materials such as ABS, POM, PP, PA glass filled, transparent materials such as PMMA, PC.

Metal, such as Stainless steel 316 , Brass and Aluminium 6061 T6 are regularly chosen for high performance metal products. Aluminium parts can be anodized.

We offer varies surface finishing such as sanding, polishing, grinding, brush, vapor polish, chrome plating, powder coating and anodizing.

Delivery Times:

Parts can be shipped in as little as 3 to 7 days. The lead-time depends on your required quantity, finishing requirements.

Tolerances:

Our standard tolerance is DIN ISO 2768M for plastic prototypes and 2768F for metal prototypes. Finer tolerances can also be achieved by our precision machining service.

Vacuum casting in China

When needed:

For marketing samples or pre-production assembly test that show the right form and function of your design or when you need quantity from 5 to 100.

The processes:

Create a master pattern by SLA or CNC machining as per your 3D CAD model.

Pour silicone material around the master pattern in a steel box to for a silicone mould.

Cut off the silicone tool and take out the master pattern.

Polyurethane resin is filled into the silicone tool in the vacuum machine.

Prototypes are removed from the silicone mold after the resin curing.

Post surface finishing or painting is applied.

Material and Finishing:

We have polyurethanes that are similar to the material properties of ABS, Nylon, POM, PC, PMMA and rubber. Painting, sanding and polishing can be applied to the prototypes afterwards.

Depends on the quantity, complexity and finishing requirements.

Shrinkage ±0.5%, DIN ISO 2768M
