Why CNC Machining?

There are a variety of real production grade materials or even better. High accuracy and repeatability can be achieved by CNC machining. This is extremely good for low to high volume production. We are able to deliver CNC machined rapid prototypes at a very competitive price and lead times are typically 3 to 7 calendar days.

CNC Precision Machining is an ideal solution for functional parts. The machined prototypes can be used in real environment for many years as we use the real special material which additive manufacturing cannot realize. CNC parts can achieve much better surface finish, such as black anodizing and chrome plating than die cast parts or extrusions and investment castings. Parts can be completed in a very short lead-time and in very low tooling cost for low volume manufacturing.

For some very large and complex parts, CNC is the most competitive solution. Most prototypes can be produced by 3, 4 or 5-axis CNC machines. In some cases, parts will be made by milling, turning, and EDM wire cutting or spark erosion (sinker). The 3D CAD Data for machining is preferably in STEP or IGES formats. STL is sufficient for quotation only but not viable for completing the order.

7 to 14 days for complex parts or low volume production parts

Minimum Feature Size:

Preferably the smallest cutter used is 1 mm, leaving a 0.5 mm internal radius.
However 0.2 mm cutters can be used if required for some very small features in low heights, such as letterings, logo and ribs.

CNC Machine Working Table Size:

The Maximum size can be up to 1200 x 600 x 600 mm. Very complex plastic parts in ABS material are usually machined in sections.

Post Surface Finishing

Our machined plastic parts are normally sanded smooth. Metal parts in aluminum and steel are left as natural in machined finish with tool marks. Polished, primer coating or painting can be offered if required.
